About this Podcast

HOST: Welcome to our podcast, today I'm thrilled to be speaking with an expert in urban landscape design and herb gardening. Can you tell us a bit about your background and how you got into this field? GUEST: Sure, I've always had a passion for plants and design. I started off as a hobbyist gardener, but soon realized I could turn my passion into a career. I went back to school for landscape architecture and focused on sustainable urban horticulture. HOST: That's fascinating! Now, let's talk about the 'Certificate Programme in Urban Landscape Design for Herb Gardens'. What inspired you to create this course? GUEST: I noticed a growing interest in urban farming and sustainable living. Herb gardens are a great way to start growing your own food, even in small spaces. I wanted to create a course that would teach people the basics of sustainable garden design and plant selection, with a focus on herbs. HOST: And what kind of trends are you seeing in the industry when it comes to urban herb gardening? GUEST: There's a big trend towards edible landscapes and permaculture. People are realizing that their gardens can be both beautiful and productive. We're also seeing more interest in native plants and biodiversity. HOST: That's really exciting. But I imagine there must be challenges when it comes to designing and maintaining herb gardens in urban settings. Can you share some of those? GUEST: Absolutely. Space constraints are a big challenge. You have to get creative with vertical gardening and container planting. Another challenge is dealing with pollution and limited sunlight in urban areas. But with the right plant selection and design, these challenges can be overcome. HOST: That's great to hear. Finally, where do you see the future of urban herb gardening and landscape design going? GUEST: I believe we'll continue to see a shift towards sustainable and edible landscapes. With climate change becoming an increasingly pressing issue, it's more important than ever to create gardens that can thrive in urban environments while also providing food and habitat for pollinators and other wildlife. HOST: Well, thank you so much for joining us today and sharing your insights on the 'Certificate Programme in Urban Landscape Design for Herb Gardens'. It's been a pleasure having you on the show! GUEST: Thank you for having me. It's been a pleasure sharing my passion for urban herb gardening and landscape design with your listeners.
